The police, in collaboration with the authorities, conducted increased traffic control and migration checks. In the past few days, the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Police Headquarters carried out a comprehensive traffic enforcement operation on this section of the M3 motorway, in cooperation with partner authorities. The police from Szabolcs directed vehicle drivers and their passengers to the Kálmánháza rest area, where they examined the validity of documents, the use of passive safety devices, and the technical condition of the vehicles.
In the case of foreigners, the legality of their stay in Hungary was also checked. During the inspection, staff members from the Road Vehicle Transport Office, Hungarian Public Road Ltd., the County Disaster Management Directorate, and the National Tax and Customs Administration also participated. In four cases, the police issued warnings for minor traffic violations and imposed on-the-spot fines in thirty-two cases. In two instances, administrative offenses were filed.
On thirty-three occasions, administrative authority fines were imposed for the failure to use passive safety devices. We draw the attention of vehicle drivers to the fact that adherence to traffic regulations is essential for preventing accidents.
