The highway operators have introduced the purchase of electronic e-vignettes for the upcoming year at a new price, and have also implemented several changes in the e-vignette offerings. From the new year, for example, the validity start of the vignette will be extended from 13 days to 60 days. According to the SITA news agency, the National Highway Company (NDS) announced that the price of the 365-day e-vignette is 90 euros, the 30-day is 17.10 euros, the 10-day is 10.80 euros, while the 1-day is 8.10 euros. Buyer protection against double purchases From December 2, a change in purchasing rules introduces a feature that includes protection for buyers against double purchases. The system will no longer allow the purchase of a new e-vignette if a new vignette is already valid for the car or the validity of the old vignette has not yet expired. According to data from NDS, complaints due to double purchases account for nearly 15 percent of sales.
Owners of electric cars do not receive discounts when purchasing an e-vignette. Why is that? From January, the NDS plans further changes in the purchasing procedure to standardize the purchasing rules for all electronically available e-vignettes. Whereas before, the start of the vignette's validity could be delayed by 13 days from the date of purchase, it can now be purchased with a 60-day advance. Official e-vignette purchasing channels Highway operators advise motorists to purchase e-vignettes exclusively through official channels, such as the www.eznamka.sk website, the eZnamka mobile application, as well as information and sales points located at border crossings (Brodské, Čunovo, Jarovce, Skalité, Milhosť), or at another 400 locations in the country. What is the new price of the one-day e-vignette? The government has approved the fee. Online intermediary shops "may not update the changes in payment terms in time. This situation can result in scenarios where motorists may end up paying higher fees compared to official sales channels without possessing a valid e-vignette," added the NDS.
